How to Pre-Order
- Go to state website (https://precommit NULL.mvtrip NULL.alabama NULL.gov/UserCommit/Index).
- Click on “Request Plate” under the license plate.
- File out the “Commitment to Purchase Application”.
- Pay the annual $50 specialty tag fee ($41.25 of this will be used for defending the Alabama and U. S. Constitution and is tax-deductible).
- Once we meet our goal of 1000, the tags will be ordered and you will be notified.

I think people are getting confused on how this works…. we are passing on FB but some just thought they could order them when they renewed their tags much to their surprise no one has ever heard of them….. good luck – got 4 tags here…. hopefully this will spread and get on the list quick.

Just looking for clarification, FB has a posting for a version of this tag that only requires 250 commits to pass, will there be multiple varieties of the DTOM tag for Alabama? If so, what are the differences?

We have decided to change the (Class) in order to go ahead and provide everyone with a tag. There has been much confusion as the state requires a PRE-commitment period. Which means that you still have to purchase your tag required by the state. This is a specialty tag which is extra. The state will not make the tag until the commitments are made and they have the money. Many purchasing these tags have never done this before and they are very enthusiastic about it and very much want their tag now. I hope this helps. Feel free to contact us with any questions.
I have made my pre-commitment. i just checked the state web site and it states that the 250 have been reached. I have 2 questions 1- will they be all yellow like above or like the one on the state page that is white with just the small decal on the left side. 2- we we be able to customize the plate number. By changing the class it changed the tag somewhat in that it is black and white with 1/2 yellow and a much larger snake, it shows up much better! We have been very excited by how many like the new look! As soon as the tags are made the state will notify you. Thank you again!

So it says the 250 precomitment has ended on the state website but yall have to have 1000, so how can I order this? I’m slightly confused
Many who purchased this (specialty) tag had never done so before and were quite confused as the state had certain requirements. They could not understand why they could not go ahead and get the tag they purchased as it was a PRE-commitment period in order to have the tags made. We decided to make it a little easier by changing classes in order for them to actually get the tag sooner. Because we changed classes it changed the tag somewhat. The tag is black and white with 1/2 yellow and a much larger snake. We have been very surprised over the response with the new tag as many like it much better! It does show up better. The state is in the process of making this tag as we speak. The tag should be ready in a couple months if not sooner. If you would like you may send us your name and address and we can notify you when they are at the courthouses to purchase. Thank you for you support!!
Ok part of mystery solved. The tag shows up on the drop down “Commitment to Purchase” thru Apr 2015. So I assume they are just not available yet to purchase with tag renewal. Expected date???

We had to renew our tags in January. I got one and so did my wife. We like the Yellow one better. We wish it could have been a choice.

I finally decided to get the personalized plate I’ve wanted for awhile now. In scrolling through the available plates I saw the “Don’t Tread On Me” one and immediately ordered that one. I didn’t know it was connected with you guys, but that’s OK, you basically have the same beliefs we Libertarians have. Thanks for getting this available.
