JUDGE ROY MOORE AND FOUNDATION FOR MORAL LAW OPPOSE ABORTION COVERAGE AND HEALTH CARE “RATIONING” IN GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE PLAN
August 11, 2009
MONTGOMERY — Judge Roy Moore, on behalf of the Foundation for Moral Law, announced opposition today to the government health care takeover being pushed onto the American people. One of the more egregious errors of the healthcare plan is that taxpayers would be forced to pay for abortion on demand. In light of a recent Associated Press story admitting that the proposed health care legislation would allow for abortion coverage, the former Alabama Chief Justice, now President of the Foundation, said, “Under this expensive plan for socialized medicine, not only would unborn life be killed with our tax dollars, but the elderly and infirm may be subject to government bureaucrats ‘rationing’ out health care and deciding whether patients should live, die, or just be given a painkiller. Washington’s desire to take care of us from the cradle to the grave exceeds the powers granted by the U.S. Constitution.”
With Congress beginning its August recess, members of Congress across the nation are feeling the backlash from citizens concerned with the loss of freedom and fiscal responsibility that will come with the health care takeover. “We are proud of the Alabama congressmen who have opposed this plan. The American people, and particularly those in Alabama, do not want Washington to control our healthcare. We need to continue to make that plain to our representatives and the White House,” added Judge Moore.
